Approach

Hello, and thank you for looking. I am Patricia, and PM Photography is my studio here in Skaneateles. Whoever is in front of the camera is the whole point of the picture, so the work is built around them rather than around a set of poses.

Almost everything is photographed outdoors in available light. No studio flash, no paper backdrops: a treeline in February, a stone wall in August, whatever the evening happens to be doing. It takes a little more patience and it looks like the person, not like a set.

Sessions run at the pace of whoever I am photographing, whether that is a senior with an hour after school, a child who needs to be left alone with a toy for a while, or a race that will not be run twice. Portraits, weddings and engagements, events, school and organisation groups, sport and commercial work are all photographed the same way.
